Re: Spurgeon on Christmas
by Ron
Thank you Tim. It is good for people to know that there is no historical accuracy in December 25th being Jesus' birthday, and to ponder what it means when we make that "day" special. Spurgeon scorned the Catholic church for its designation of Christmas as a Holy day and the act of mass. Today protestants can be scorned for Christmas being Retailers day and converting it into a passing thought of the Incarnation while celebrating Ipods, X-boxes and H.D. T.V.'s.
